Elliptical Breakfast Table
If you will pardon the lack of finished, in situ photographs, I will tell you that this oxidized maple breakfast table has a steeply beveled base edge that presented some real challenges in the building process. Two of us slowly. and carefully spun it through the shaper in a sequence of passes and it turned out wonderfully in the end. The table is mounted in its new home on a delicate, fluted steel base that we filled with a lot of sand as a counterweight against tipping.
